Mik Kuhlman

International Performing Artist and UMO Ensemble Member, has worked for over twenty years
with various theatres, dance companies, festivals and organizations in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.  For nine years she worked as a national/international touring artist and Associate Artistic Director of Seattle Mime Theatre. The next five years took her to France with the ARDEO Theatre Project, living in residence at the Chateau St. Julien l’Ars and to Paris with Compagnie Brigitte Dumez and Kilometer Zero.

Through On the Boards and Scarlet Productions, she conceived and developed her first solo touring show SPLIT SECOND, premiering it in Seattle and touring it in British Columbia.For the past two years she has been invited to Jerusalem to tour the West Bank in joint American/Palestinian productions with the Palestinian National Theatre/Al‐Hakawati in From Jerusalem with Love...Naji and Passages of Martin Luther King).

Mik is a regular performer and director in Seattle and on Vashon Island, (UMO Ensemble, Church of Great Rain, 14/48, Sandbox Artist Collective). Her current work includes Live Radio Shows, celebration arts events, corporate events, various performances with UMO Ensemble, and the development of SHADOWS, a live-art installation. She has been a recipient of several awards including two Independent Artist Grants from 4Culture for SPLIT SECOND and SHADOWS, several Artists in Schools grants from Vashon Allied Arts; and a NELLIS award. She holds an MFA in Acting from California Institute of the Arts, with continued studies at Ecole Jacque LeCoq and Ecole Phillipe Gaullier.
